Therapy for Ministers

Everything To Everyone

You are expected to be a strong leader, wise mentor, dynamic vision caster, and eloquent communicator who is theologically informed, compassionate, and frugal with resources.

In short, all things to all people.

That’s a lot of pressure.

Lots of stress trying to live up to unattainable expectations.

After all, you’re human, too, with the same emotions, fears, and insecurities as anyone.

To whom can you turn?

Whether you are a pastor, priest, rabbi, chaplain, or anyone called to ministry…

At times you may need help in figuring out your heart’s motivation, navigating the storms of life, and maintaining basic mental health.

When you feel anxious, depressed, isolated, and/or lonely, who can you turn to for help?

In whom can you confide?

You may be experiencing burn-out or even doubts about your calling.

It’s important to seek out and find someone who respects your privacy. And because you may want to keep your issues confidential, that person is probably not in your church, not a fellow minister, and isn’t one of the leaders of your denomination.

Those people can provide other types of support, but they should not take on the role of your therapist.

Why Therapy With Me?

My experience in seminary, Clinical Pastoral Education, and ministry gives me a perspective that not all therapists have.

Over the years, many of my clients have been people preparing for and in ministry from various faiths.

I provide a truly safe environment for you to be honest with what’s going on in your personal life, relationships, and ministry.

You’ll get the support you need to promote self-awareness, emotional and spiritual health, and navigate your ministerial journey.
